Course Description:
The Maritime Fires Course is a Naval Fires & Effects Training Continuum Level 1 course focused on Fleet Fires at the tactical level of warfare. Students are instructed in maritime fires principles, processes, procedures, and products from Fleet theaters (predominantly Pacific Fleet) at the operational and tactical levels of war.
Scope:
The Maritime Fires Course provides foundational instruction on Fleet Fires in a Pacific Theater context; introduces integration of maritime fires with joint processes and capabilities (kinetic and non-kinetic) across all domains; provides instruction on maritime dynamic targeting and kill chain management; and introduces maritime fires planning and execution at the tactical level of war. Class consists of lectures and practical applications. The last day is a familiarization on the Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS) for a limited group of students.
Audience:
Staff operations officers, intelligence officers, and targeteers attached to Carrier Strike Groups (CSGs), Expeditionary Strike Groups (ESGs), and supporting Warfare Commander staffs such as Carrier Air Wing, Destroyer Squadron, and Information Warfare staffs. While strike group centric, instruction is germane to officers at Fleet Maritime Operations Centers (MOCs), Marine Littoral Regiments (MLRs), and similar tactical to operational level of war units.
Start Place and Time:
TACTRAGRUPAC is physically located on the THIRD Fleet complex at Naval Base Point Loma in San Diego, California.
Check in at TACTRAGRUPAC Security, BLDG 61 (outside the gate), NLT 0745 on the first day of class to receive your required visitor security badge. Once you receive your badge, enter the compound and make an immediate right at the “T” intersection. You will see building 24 directly in front of you once you make the turn. Proceed to the opposite side of building 24 and find a parking place. Enter through the door in the loading zone and follow signs for the GW classroom on the 3rd deck for class start at 0830.
