Group in-port exercises are distributed training events conducted throughout the Fleet Readiness Training Plan (FRTP) to provide the appropriate level of tailored training for watch standers. Group in-port exercises for the Warfare Commander (FST-WC) usually follow upon the completion of Warfare Commander Conferences (WCC) and use tactical scenarios to validate tactics, techniques and procedures at the ship’s tactical watch team and Warfare Commander level.
The FST-WC distributed in-port exercise is staff/warfare commander directed and staff/CSTT evaluated. TTGP develops the scenarios that are conducted on the ships to allow the Group and Warfare Commanders to execute various missions and train shipboard personnel. The first 3 days are testing and preparation followed by 2 days of scenario execution.
The FST-WC is geared toward the Strike Group’s Warfare Commanders and the ship’s tactical watch standers.
A fully functional shipboard combat system suite to include all onboard training systems.
